Resilience in Local Planning
Localis will be holding another webinar next Wednesday 8 March on the topic of Resilience in Local Planning.
It will look into the current role that climate resilience holds in recently adopted local plans and consider the wider readiness of local planning authorities to adapt to climate change.
The main essay questions are:
- How fit for purpose are local plans, and the broader NPPF, in embedding climate resilience in place?
- How can the NPPF be amended to better facilitate climate resilience?
The webinar is the first event – and launch – of Localis’ year-long campaign for a Local Resilience Act.
The LRA is something Localis is campaigning for in order to ensuring funding for local authorities to consider place resilience as a statutory duty to provide adaptation measures for the built and natural environment.
