Hays are delighted to be partnering with Ipswich Borough Council to recruit a Senior Estates Surveyor for a permanent opportunity that has arisen in their Assets team. This varied and exciting role will focus on Ipswich Borough Council’s diverse and varied property portfolio containing some 500 plus assets with a value of £110m and a rental income of £3.3m per year.

It is an exciting time to be joining Ipswich Borough Council. The Borough has a diverse portfolio which includes the usual property types such as Offices, Industrial and Retail assets, but also some unique assets such as Churches, Marinas, Farmland and a Football Ground. The Borough has recently secured £25 million of grant funding by way of the Towns Fund and there are a number of exciting projects that you will be involved with. As the Senior Estates Surveyor, you’ll be working closely with the Operations Manager for Property Services and assist in the management of the corporate estate, including the overseeing of third-party valuations. You will be providing advice on lettings, lease renewals, rent reviews as well as supporting with acquisitions and disposals. The successful candidate may also support with providing valuation advice on Housing matters such as Residential Buy Backs.
You’ll be a commercially minded and ambitious property professional with an eye for detail. You’ll be adaptable in your approach and will have the ability to work closely with various internal and external stakeholders. You’ll be a team player and able to work with others in order to progress and develop the Borough’s Property Portfolio. As the preferred candidate you will have experience of commercial property management, be educated to degree level or equivalent and will hold current RICS membership and registered valuer status. As the Senior Estates Surveyor, you’ll receive a salary of up to £41,881 per annum, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays and you’ll be enrolled into the excellent Local Government Pension Scheme. The team are working remotely and even as they move back towards the offices it’s expected that you’ll still have flexibility and agility in how and where you work.

Property Surveyor (Primary Care) Cardiff based

We are looking for a general practice Chartered Surveyor to provide property support and advice on the primary care estate to Health Boards in Wales.
You will advise Health Boards on the reimbursement of rent to GP practices, assist in the improvement of GP premises, support the development of new primary care schemes and provide advice on wider property management issues relating to the primary care estate.
To fulfil this role you will be a Chartered Surveyor with detailed knowledge and experience of valuations, rent reviews, property development processes, land transactions and lease management.
