Property Services is a busy and friendly team which manages the large Cornwall Council property portfolio.
The wider team is roughly made up of 60 people skilled in property, land, contract and energy management.
The portfolio is made up of c.4,200 individual assets and c.2,500 property agreements.
The team deals with direct management, managing an out-sourced FM contract delivering the full range of premises management, statutory compliance and building maintenance tasks; estate management dealing with the occupation arrangements of all sites such as leases, licences, wayleaves and easements; energy management dealing with management of utilities supported by contract arrangements and a renewable energy programme. Indirect management requires an overview of corporate asset management, which ensures the authority releases assets it no longer requires and invests its capital in the most suitable assets to meet its requirements.
At the heart of this is day to day property management, tenant engagement, and all lease activities along with wider strategic thinking and income maximisation. The multi-faceted estate generates over £7m of key budgeted income for the authority.
Property Services requires a competent and ambitions trainee surveyor keen to assist with tenant engagement, lettings, marketing, applications for alterations, property management, rent reviews, lease renewals, lease re-gears, lease consultancy, dilapidations assessments, strategic planning and income maximisation.
You will need to be able to work collaboratively with colleagues and provide excellent professional advice grounded in solid commercial judgement. You will develop creative and innovative solutions in response to the varied challenges which arise within the portfolio.

We are looking for experienced and ambitious individuals to join a small team to deliver the Council’s agenda for growth and change.
If you are an experienced surveyor who may or may not be chartered, and looking for your next step in a
